מידע כללי

פרופ' דבי רנד היא מרפאה בעיסוק וחוקרת בחוג לריפוי בעיסוק בבית הספר למקצועות הבריאות ע"ש שטייר בפקולטה לרפואה.  פרופ' רנד מלמדת קורסים שונים בתוכנית לתואר ראשון ולימודי המוסמך ומנחה סטודנטים לתארים מתקדמים בריפוי בעיסוק.

 

קורות חיים

פרופ' דבי רנד סיימה את התואר הראשון בריפוי בעיסוק באוניברסיטת תל-אביב בשנת 1992, את התואר המוסמך היא קיבלה מהאוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים ב-1998 ואת הדוקטורט קיבלה מאוניברסיטת חיפה ב-2007. בכל השנים הללו עבדה פרופ' רנד כמרפאה בעיסוק בשיקום לאחר אירוע מוחי במרכז הגריאטרי בית רבקה.

במהלך לימודי הדוקטורט פרופ' רנד פיתחה סביבה מדומה של סופרמרקט (ה-VMall) במערכת הקרנת וידיאו של מציאות מדומה לטיפול ביד החלשה ובליקויים בתפקודים ניהוליים של אנשים לאחר אירוע מוחי.

לימודי הפוסט-דוקטורט (2007-2010) עשתה פרופ' רנד ב- University of British Columbia בואנקובר, קנדה. שם היא חקרה את הפעילות הפיזית של אנשים בשנה הראשונה לאחר אירוע מוחי.

פרופ' רנד חוקרת את היעילות של התערבויות טיפוליות הכוללות שילוב של טכנלוגיות משחק בשיקום. היא משלבת משחקי וידיאו, אפליקציות משחק ואפליקציות תפקודיות במחשבי לוח (touchscreen tablet) במטרה לעודד תרגול חוזרני של תנועות אקטיביות או יכולות קוגניטיביות של אוכלוסיות מגוונות.

תחומי מחקר

שיקום היד החלשה לאחר אירוע מוחי

מזה שנים רבות פרופ' רנד חוקרת את ההחלמה של היד החלשה לאחר אירוע מוחי. במחקרים אלו, פרופ' רנד מנסה לאפיין את ההחלמה של הגפה העליונה מבחינה מוטורית ותחושתית ולאתר את הגורמים המנבאים שיקום מוצלח של היד החלשה.

פרופ' רנד משתמשת בכלי אבחון מהימנים ותקפים להערכה של הגפה העליונה. היא שותפה בתרגום כלים שונים והתאמתם לארץ.

Chedoke Arm and Hand Activity Inventory (CAHAI) - אבחון זה בודק את היכולת התפקודית של היד החלשה דרך מטלות בי-לטריות. ניתן להוריד את האבחון בעברית כאן וגם באתר של האבחון. 

Rating of Everyday Arm-Use in the Community and Home (REACH) - שאלון קצר שמיועד לסווג את רמת השימוש ביד החלשה בתפקודי היומיום. יש גירסה ליד החלשה הדומיננטית והלא-דומיננטית . נתן להוריד את השאלון בעברית כאן.

ליקויים בתפקודים ניהוליים

פרופ' רנד חוקרת את התחום של קוגניציה ויכולות קוגניטיביות גבוהות בקרב אוכלוסיות של אנשים זקנים עם וללא מצבים נוירולוגים. במחקריה היא מאפיינת את הליקויים הללו במטרה להבין כיצד הם משפיעים על תפקוד יומיומי עצמאי. בנוסף ד"ר רנד מפתחת התערבויות קוגניטיביות כדי לשפר את הליקויים הללו. בהתערבויות אלו משלבת פרופ' רנד שימוש בטכנולוגיה מתקדמת או ביצוע של פעילות פיזית כמעודדת שיפור קוגניטיבי.

פרופ' רנד שואפת להשתמש בכלי אבחון בעלי תוקף אקולוגי כדי לאבחן תפקודים ניהולים. מבחן ארבעת הפריטים (The 4-item test) או ה- Virtual Multiple Errands Test הם דוגמאות לאבחונים אלו. בימים אלו ביחד עם ד"ר סיגל פורטנוי וד"ר רחלי קיצוני, הן מפתחות ומתקפות את ה- - 4ITT- Four Item Tablet Test לשימוש באפליקציה ולשימוש מרחוק.

 

The Internet-based Bill Paying Task

בשנים האחרונות פרופ' רנד היתה שותפה בהתאמה של תת אבחון תשלום החשבונות מתוך אבחון ה-Executive Function Performance test   לתשלום באינטרנט. ניתן להוריד את האבחון הזה ללא תשלום כאן.

האבחון  תקף לאבחן תפקודים ניהוליים באוכלוסייה של אנשים זקנים בריאים, אנשים לאחר אירוע מוחי בשלב הסאב-אקוטי והכרוני וגם לאנשים לאחר פגיעת ראש טראומתית.

 

פעילות פיזית

פרופ' רנד חוקרת את הנושא של פעילות פיזית כמעודדת תפקוד, החלמה, קוגנציה, איכות חיים בקרב אוכלוסיות בריאות וחולות.

היא עושה שימוש במדי תאוצה כדי לכמת את מידת הפעלות הפיזית. בנוסף היא נעזרת במבחנים קלינים של שיווי משקל, הליכה, תחושת מסוגלות ועוד.

משחקי וידיאו, משחקי טאבלט ועוד

 פרופ' רנד חוקרת את השימוש במשחקים בהקשר לשיקום / טיפול / עידוד אורח חיים בריא בקרוב אוכלוסיות שונות. פרופ' רנד פיתחה התערבות טיפולית לאנשים בשלב הכרוני לאחר אירוע מוחי לשימוש קבוצתי ולשימוש ביתי באמצעות משחקי וידיאו. מחקריה אשר פורסמו במאמרים שונים הדגימו שהשימוש במשחקי הוידיאו היה מהנה, אשר סיפק אפשרות לתרגול חוזרני של יכולות מוטורית ויכולות קוגניטיביות. התערבויות אלו יש להם פוטנציאל לשמר אורח חיים בריא לאנשים משתקמים לאחר אירוע מוחי.

פרופ' רנד היתה שותפה בפיתוח של פרוטקול שימוש במשחקים בטאבלט לתרגול מוטוריקה עדינה של אנשים שמשתקמים מאירוע מוחי – REHAB-LET

 

שבריריות בקרב זקנים

 בשנים האחרונות חוקרת פרופ' רנד שבריריות (frailty) – צמצום הרזרבות בקרב זקנים בריאים אשר מתגוררים בקהילה. במחקר משותף עם ד"ר שטרנברג, פרופ' בנטור, ד"ר בוקמן, אשר קיבל מימון של המכון הלאומי לחקר שרותי הבריאות ומדיניות הבריאות, הם חוקרים את המאפיינים של אנשים השברירים בהשוואה לאנשים לא שברירים מבחינת תפקוד, השתתפות וקוגניציה.

שאלון PRISMA-7 להערכה של תסמונת השבריריות תורגם לעברית באישור המחברים.

שבריריות היא תסמונת נפוצה בקרב זקנים, המאופיינת בירידה בכוח שרירים, איטיות בהליכה וירידה במשקל גוף עקב ירידה ברזרבות פיזיולוגיות בגוף. מצב זה מוביל לסיכון מוגבר לנפילות, צמצום תפקוד יומיומי, אשפוזים ותמותה. ניתן למנוע ואף לטפל בשבריריות על ידי פעילות גופנית, פעילות קוגנטיבית תזונה נכונה ושמירה על אורח חיים פעיל.

תכנית פעילות גינון טיפולי עבור אנשים עם דמנציה הגרים במוסד גריאטרי

השתתפות בפעילויות גינון, אשר מספקים גרייה חושית רב-ערוצית, נמצאו כמפחיתים אגיטציה, משפרים מצב רוח, ומיטיבים את הרווחה של אנשים עם דמנציה.  התוכנית פותחה על ידי מרפאות בעיסוק במסגרת מחקר פיילוט לבחינת "יישומיות ותרומת תכנית פעילות גינון טיפולי ועיסוק בצמחים, לשיפור איכות החיים של אנשים עם דמנסיה הגרים במוסד סעודי". המחקר מומן על-ידי מרכז מינרבה לחקר בינתחומי של סוף החיים באוניברסיטת תל-אביב. ניתן להוריד את פרוטקול תוכנית הגינון אשר כולל מתווה של עשרה מפגשים.

במסגרת המחקר, נעשה שימוש בשאלון ה- Bath Assessment of Subjective Quality of Life in Dementia (BASQID) הבודק איכות חיים ומותאם גם לאנשים עם דמנציה. ניתן להוריד את השאלון המתורגם כאן.
