for a Full-Time, Tenure-Track Faculty Position

At the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music

In Music Research

Beginning October 2023

The position is open to applicants at all ranks and in all fields of music research and musicology, including music theory, historical musicology, ethnomusicology, popular music studies, music technology, music perception and cognition, etc.

The candidate must hold a PhD in music research and demonstrate a strong record of independent research. The position entails research, teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and supervision of graduate student research. Candidates must be fluent in Hebrew and English and able to teach in both languages.    

The academic rank and terms of employment will be commensurate with each candidate’s experience, skills and stature. Tenure and appointment procedures are subject to Tel Aviv University Appointment Bylaws and to the approval of the appropriate academic authorities.

Research Statement (up to 1 page) and two course descriptions.

Three letters of recommendation (to be sent directly to the BMSM head).
