פרופ' שלמה משה הינו מומחה ברפואה תעסוקתית, בעל תואר דוקטור לרפואה (MD) ותואר שני בבריאות בתעסוקה  (M.Occ.H.) מטעם אוניברסיטת ת"א. פרופ' משה שירת בחיל הרפואה של צה"ל כרופא תעסוקתי במשך שנים רבות, בין היתר כראש ענף הבריאות התעסוקתית (דרגת סא"ל) בחיל הרפואה של צה"ל. 

לאחר שחרורו מצה"ל, בשנת 2003, עבר פרופ' שלמה משה לעבוד במכבי שירותי בריאות, בתחום הרפואה התעסוקתית. במסגרת תפקידיו ניהל שתי מרפאות תעסוקתיות במכבי. בשנת 2007 התמנה לראש תחום הרפואה התעסוקתית של מכבי במחוז ירושלים והשפלה. תחת אחריותו מתנהלות כיום 4 מרפאות תעסוקתיות במחוז זה. פרופ' משה מפקח הן על הפעילות הקלינית והן על הפעילות האקדמית של הרפואה תעסוקתית במכבי שירותי בריאות ומשמש כמנהל תוכנית ההכשרה של מתמחי הרפואה התעסוקתית במכבי. פרופ' משה מכהן כחבר במועצה הלאומית לבריאות העובד, בוועדת רשם מחלות המקצוע, ובוועדות מקצועיות שונות במסגרת גוף הגג העולמי ברפואה תעסוקתית (ICOH), ועוד. לאורך הקריירה האקדמית שלו הדריך פרופ' משה סטודנטים רבים לתארים מתקדמים. הוא חיבר למעלה מ-70 מאמרים מקוריים שעברו ביקורת עמיתים. 

בספטמבר 2020 מונה פרופ' משה לראש החוג לבריאות תעסוקתית בבית הספר לבריאות הציבור של אוניברסיטת תל אביב. בספטמבר 2024 מונה לדרגת פרופסור חבר קליני מטעם הפקולטה למדעי הרפואה והבריאות, אוניברסיטת ת"א. 

מחקריו של פרופ' שלמה משה התמקדו בתחילת דרכו האקדמית במיון הרפואי בצה"ל. לשם כך ביצע מחקרים רחבי היקף מבחינה אפידמיולוגית על נתוני צה"ל. בשנת 2007 יזם פרסום עותק של עיתון הרפואה הצבאית שעיקר תכניו נגעו לרפואה תעסוקתית. בהמשך דרכו עסק בפרסום שורה ארוכה של מאמרים שעסקו בקביעת כושר עבודה  בתחומי רפואה שונים כגון אורתופדיה, רפואת ריאות, קרדיולוגיה, פיברומיאלגיה, סוכרת ועוד.
