מה אני חוקרת?

האם יש שינוי ממשי ביחסים ובתפקידים מגדריים ביפן בכלל ובמשפחה היפנית בפרט? מה המשמעות התרבותית-חברתית של גברים המגדירים עצמם כ"עקרי-בית"? , מהי "אנתרופולוגיה משתפת"?

אני אנתרופולוגית. תחום המחקר העיקרי שלי הוא יפן העכשווית עם התמקדות במגדר, משפחה והיחסים בין משפחה ועבודה. אשמח לשתף אתכן/ם בידע ובחשיבה על החברה היפנית בת זמננו, על כל מורכבותיה וכן לפתח את השרירים האנתרופולוגיים שלכן/ם באופן כללי.

פרופ' עפרה גולדשטיין-גדעוני היא אנתרופולוגית המתמקדת ביפן ומרצה במינוי משותף בחוגים לסוציולוגיה ואנתרופולוגיה ולימודי מזרח אסיה. גולדשטיין-גדעוני כיהנה בעבר כראש החוג לסוציולוגיה ואנתרופולוגיה. המחקר הנוכחי שלה מתמקד במשפחה, מגדר, "אבות חדשים" "עקרי בית" ו"נשים מפרנסות" ושילוב בין משפחה ועבודה ביפן.
