תחומי מחקר

מטרת המעבדה שלנו היא חקר מנגנונים אשר מבקרים את התהליך הדלקתי כתוצאה מפעילות תאי מערכת החיסון בזמן רגיעה ומחלה. עיקר ההתמקדות הוא על שני תהליכי מוות מתוכנן שמובילים למצב דלקתי, מוות תאי שתלוי באינזים Caspase1 ונקרא פירופטוזיס, Pyroptosis, ומוות נוסף שתלוי בקינאז RIPK3 ולא תלוי בפעילות של Caspases ונקרא נקרורופטוזיס, Necroptosis.

 

בפרוייקטים אלו אנו נעזרים במקוון שיטות הכוללות עבודה עם תרביות תאים,  עכברים טרנסגניים ייחודיים, ביולוגיה מולקולרית, ביוכימיה,  פרוטאומיקה, במטרה להוביל  לפריצת דרך בתחום של מוות תאי ומחלות מדבקות ע"י חשיפת רבדים חדשים ברגולציה של תהליכים הלו ותפקידם במהלך תגובת מערכת החיסון להדבקות וירליות וחיידקיות.
