מחקרה של ד"ר קרת משלב בין המסגרות התיאורטיות של פסיכולוגיה חיובית ומדיניות ציבורית תוך דגש על קיימות בכדי לענות על שאלות כגון:

• כיצד מדיניות ציבורית יכולה לשפר קיימות ברמות שונות: הפרט, המקומי, הלאומי והבינלאומי?
• מהם הקשרים בין מדדים שונים של רווחה סובייקטיבית לבין התנהגות סביבתית? מה תפקידם של משתנים מתווכים כגון תקווה, שליטה עצמית ומיינדפולנס?
• כיצד ניתן לעצב וליישם תוכניות חינוכיות אפקטיביות בתחום הקיימות?

מחקרה משלב את הכשרתה כעורכת דין, עיסוקה בתחום המשפט הבינלאומי בפרקליטות הצבאית, הכשרתה בתחומי מדעי החברה ובתחומי מדעי הסביבה עם ההכשרה אותה רכשה במסגרת היותה עמיתת פולברייט ורוטשילד בבית הספר לבריאות הציבור בהרווארד. לאחרונה זכתה ד"ר קרת במענק מהקרן הלאומית למדע בכדי לחקור את אופן ההשפעה של בתי ספר ירוקים על התנהגות סביבתית ורווחה סובייקטיבית של הלומדים בהם.
