This T2 weighted MRI scan of a neonate in coronal view demonstrates a bright pericardial effusion around the heart. There is also ascites with bright bright fluid in the peritoneal cavity. Such effusions can occur with hydrops as well as heart failure from anemia, infection, and congenital anomalies.
