| This patient with diabetes mellitus developed an ulceration of the foot which was non-healing and became secondarily infected. The inflammation extended through the soft tissue and broke through the bone cortex into the underlying calcaneus, resulting in osteomyelitis marked by the area of lucency seen here. |
