Is the case of Al-Hussayen typical, or is it no more than a rather open and shut case of post 9/11 American paranoia trampling over basic civil liberties? Are there more cases of this sort? And perhaps more to the point, are there more cases of this sort that don't focus around the threat (real or imagined) of terror? Finding them hasn't been easy. What's more, if whatever similar cases can be found also stem from the threat of terror, then perhaps the issue isn't one of linking, but simply one of paranoia, and I've been barking up the wrong tree.
