While, for me at least, preparing a blog post is a constant process of filtering out, Boidem columns function in an almost opposite manner, gathering materials that often seem to have no obvious connection between them, and trying to construct from them a coherent whole. It's perhaps this central difference that makes Boidem columns and blog posts that ostensibly deal with the same topic (and for obvious reasons, that happens more than just occasionally) very different from each other.
