Short Bio: Yakir Hadad is an Associate Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering at Tel Aviv University. During the 2025-2027 academic years, he is serving as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the ElectroScience Laboratory at The Ohio State University. He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees, both summa cum laude, in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in 2006 and 2008, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Physical Electronics from Tel Aviv University in 2014. From 2015 to 2017, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin.
His research aims to develop fundamental analytical and computational tools for understanding, controlling, and optimizing wave phenomena in complex media. His interests span electromagnetics, acoustics, metamaterials, time-varying and nonlinear systems, inverse design, and fundamental performance limits. He is a recipient of the Alon Fellowship, the Krill Prize of the Wolf Foundation, and the Leopold B. Felsen Award for Excellence in Electrodynamics. He is an IEEE Senior Member and has received Tel Aviv University awards for excellence in teaching.
