"Narraction for strategy making"

Narraction is mixing narration and action in a common flow in order to convey meaning on reality and/or
influence it. In narraction, words and deeds are the two faces of the same coin and interact one with
the other. We built this narractive perspective through our work on scientific and technical innovations.
We studied interactive strategies of some of the various actors who, in France, were involved (public
research organization, industrial, patients associations) in gene therapy emergence and development
at the beginning of the 1990s. At that time, private actors mobilised public research resources in order
to achieve their own goals. Looking at the formulation and implementation of their strategies allowed us
to test the relevance and potential of narraction for strategy making.
