| This chest radiograph demonstrates a mass lesion in the right upper lobe. This was an oat cell carcinoma. It obstructed the right main bronchus, leading to atelectasis on the right, evidenced by a raised right hemidiaphragm. The patient aspirated gastric contents, producing a diffuse pneumonia on the left (since aspirated material could not pass the obstruction on the right). |
