This abnormality may be considered an early amnion disruption sequence in embryogenesis. There is a gastroschisis, which is a body wall defect lateral to the umbilicus. The umbilical cord is typically short. Facial clefts and/or cranial clefts (with exencephaly) may also be seen. |
