By cholangiography there is dilation of the biliary tree above the cystic duct as a consequence of the presence of a mass lesion involving the common bile duct. This proved to be an adenocarcinoma. Such a rare primary extrahepatic biliary tract neoplasm is known as a "Klatskin tumor".
