This radiograph was taken at the time of an endoscopic retrograde pancreatography (ERCP) procedure to reveal areas of marked segmental narrowing of the common bile duct along with the common hepatic duct in a case of sclerosing cholangitis. The cystic duct and the gallbladder are seen toward the left side of this image. Some cases of sclerosing cholangitis are seen in association with idiopathic inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn disease or ulcerative colitis).
