These abdominal ultrasound views demonstrate thickening with edema of the gallbladder wall in both longitudinal and transverse views, with cursors marking the thickness, here measured at 7.6 mm, much greater than the upper limit of normal, 3 mm. Since no gallstones are identified, this is a case of acalculous cholecystitis.
