This patient with diabetes mellitus and severe atherosclerotic vascular disease had decreasing renal function with rising blood urea nitrogen and creatinine. An imaging scan was done in nuclear medicine to determine whether renal blood flow was still present. As can be seen here, there is flow to both the left kidney as well as the right kidney, though the right kidney is smaller.
