| These abdominal CT scan views above and below demonstrate an aortic dissection proceeding to the descending aorta. The superior mesenteric artery branch also appears to be affected. The classic historical finding of sudden, severe, "knife-like" pain in the chest or upper abdomen is more likely to be present in this situation. |
