| This T1 weighted MRI scan in coronal view demonstrates a single ventricle with poorly develop rim of cortex and at the base central fused thalami in a case of alobar holoprosencephaly. This condition results from failure of development of two cerebral hemispheres by the telecephalon and failure of complete thalamic development by the diencephalon. |
