These T1 weighted MRI scans with gadolinium enhancement reveal numerous brightly enhancing ring enhancing abscesses in axial view above and coronal view below. This patient was immunocompromised and had a chronic lung abscess. Long filamentous organisms faintly acid fast were recovered on bronchoalveolar lavage of the lung, and Nocardia asteroides was cultured.
