History of Present Illness:
This preliminary diagnosis was confirmed by hepatic venography. This procedure was combined with venography of the inferior vena cava (IVC). Subsequently, the patient underwent a procedure to relieve the portal hypertension. Within on week, her liver function improved significantly and she was discharged to home within two weeks.
