The tan-white nodules in these anthracotic hilar lymph nodes are metastases from a bronchogenic carcinoma. Lymph node metastases are more likely to occur in lymph nodes draining an organ or body region with the primary neoplasm. Carcinomas are more likely to metastasize to lymph nodes than sarcomas.
