Here is a squamous cell carcinoma of the upper eyelid. This mass lesion is a neoplasm arising from sun damaged squamous epithelium. It arises out of actinic keratosis proceeding to carcinoma in situ proceeding to invasive carcinoma. Removal presents the same problems as with a basal cell carcinoma.
