| Note the swelling in the region of the right elbow. On palpation there is a fluctuant, tender area. The swelling gradually subsided over several weeks. This is bursitis, also known as "tennis elbow," from inflammation and swelling with fluid collection in the olecranon bursa. Bursal sacs in the shoulder, elbow, and knee regions are most likely to become irritated with excessive movement. In the view below can be seen a more chronic case. |
