Do you really want to teach your mother to use the internet?

Wouldn't you really rather have someone else do it? And save yourself the exasperation?

I can readily understand why someone whose father turns to him and asks him to teach him a bit of how to use the computer and the internet might respond: "Wouldn't you really prefer to take a course? I've heard that there's someone who teaches really well and has lots of patience. Why not enroll, and both of us can keep our sanity."



Having to start from scratch can be a trying experience, but then again, there's a certain challenge involved in starting from the very basics.
