I'm often asked what I think has to be done in order to successfully integrate the use of computers into the educational system. My standard response is that the people who work in training teachers and giving guidance to schools (almost all highly trained professionals in their field) should be able to make a living from only one job. Today they can't, and finding one of these people who isn't searching for additional tasks is like finding a .... Since I've already used up my quota on cliches for this column, I'll leave that thought unfinished. Suffice to say that there are some very capable people out there looking for work, and not finding it.
