Back to beginnings.
The comic on the page that links to this page is a Doonesbury from, most probably, February 1966. One of the comics featured in the very first issue of the Boidem is from that same series. I've stopped collecting comics that deal with computer or internet use. On the one hand, my mother has stopped sending them, and on the other they (and internet use in general) have become so common that they rarely succeed in enlightening our understanding of computers and the internet in our lives. Still, I keep my collection, still housed in a large manilla envelope, expecting that occasionally I'll write about a topic that will be just right for one of them. And now, six years after that first comic appeared I've found an opportunity to use a sister comic that I received at the same time. Is this a case of Doonesbury knowing back then something that I've only realized now, or have I simply refined my linking abilities to the point at which I can more smoothly sneak in an unrelated comment? Let the reader decide.
