Do we all follow the same pattern?

I can only speak for myself, but I wouldn't be surprised if others haven't found themselves going through very similar phases. At first we find that we can't detach ourselves from the screen, and devote hour upon hour to testing the various aspects of this new tool, all the while getting less and less sleep.

As time goes by we learn to control ourselves, and don't waste the entire night clicking away. Instead, we make believe we're actually using it in a productive manner. If we're honest we still admit that we waste a great deal of our time, but we become more and more adept at making it seem that we've put it to good use. Cathy seems to have found the proper balance between using her time well and admitting the truth:

Who knows! Somewhere along the way we may even learn to shut the machine off and go to sleep like normal people.
