You'd think there'd be many more than just one.


Frankly, I expected that I'd find more than at least one comic in my rather extensive collection that deals with a topic somehow related to internet addiction. Not being able to detach oneself from the screen has become a rather standard part of our popular culture - one would think that it would show up more frequently in cultural mirrors like comics.

Dennis's mother, even if she's forgotten to prepare dinner, certainly still seems to be in control of her life. At least she doesn't have the dazed look that we generally associated with substance abusers of various sorts. Her eyes even seem to have a twinkle in them, as though she's truly enjoying what she's doing. And after all, why shouldn't a chat room be at least as enjoyable as preparing dinner and washing the dishes afterwards.
