Just the facts, mam, just the facts.

Frankly, I'm not sure just what it is that people are really looking for when they conduct an internet search. Ostensibly it's something called "information", though we never really seem to be satisfied with the information that we find. AltaVista now invites us to "Ask AltaVista a question" as an alternative to typing keywords into the search box. It even tells us that "AltaVista knows the answers" to certain questions. And to tell the truth, it does.

Instead of clicking away on the list of results for my "winter solstice" search I thought "why not", and clicked on the "Answer" button next to "what can you tell me about the winter solstice?".
.....

.....
A site entitled Solstice (http://www.candlegrove.com/solstice.html) opened on my screen, and it was an esthetically pleasing, highly informative site that with one click denied me the pleasure of wasting time by clicking away at all the rest of the results.

But what about the title of this month's column?
