The web may truly be the most massive library imaginable, but too often its contents aren't what I'd have hoped for. Of course nobody is expected to read everything, and each person has his or her own favorite section and can occupy him or herself there. So perhaps my disappointment isn't justified. There's more than enough "good" (from my perspective) content to keep me busy for a number of lifetimes, so that even if I stumble upon considerably more junk than I'd like, I really shouldn't complain. But when selling has become more important than informing it's hard not to feel that somewhere along the line a wrong turn was taken.
