Okay, I'll tell it again.

Actually, it turns out that in these pages I've only once, eleven and a half years ago, noted this. Which I suppose means that I've done it numerous times in other frameworks since, at least to my mind, it's one of my most common stories. It was over 25 years ago, perhaps close to 30, that my brother brought me my first computer - a Macintosh SE. It had a hard drive of 20MB which, at the time, seemed immense. He said something along the lines of "I doubt you'll ever fill this up". It was only a few years later that I replaced that drive with a 40MB drive which probably filled up even faster. When all I was doing was saving word-processed files it wasn't hard to feel that 20MB was close to sufficient. Today, however, is different. At present my very full Dropbox account has only a bit over 50MB of Word files in the main area where I save most of my writing. Many more Word files are saved in other folders and on numerous computers, suggesting that even if my only digital activity was word processing 20MB definitely wouldn't be enough. Still, my Word files alone don't get me close to the hundreds of GBs that I've saved over those same various devices (and on a few different clouds). I don't need all that space for text. I need it because long ago text ceased to be main thing we keep on our computers.
