Swallow that computer!

Digital medicine has been with us for a number of years already, though I suppose that it's still the sort of thing that merits headlines. A year ago NPR reported on a pharmaceutical company investing millions of dollars in the development of miniature chips, with a leading member of their team claiming that:

someday soon every single pill a doctor prescribes will come with an electronic component embedded right in it that tracks the pill's absorption in your body.
And that, in a strange Boidemesque sort of way, had me scratching my head. I was quite sure that in a past column I'd linked to a YouTube version of George Harrison's "Within You Without You", but a rather extensive search didn't bring up that link. Of course if I hadn't done that until now ... now was the time.
