Stashed away in a drawer somewhere I've got a plug for an old Walkman that lets
me connect two sets of earphones. Actually, I think I've got two of these - both
probably bought before a plane flight, thinking that the boys would be able to
listen to the same tape while on route. It's a rather simple plug, and I'm quite
sure that they're still available - though I doubt that anybody is buying them.
Today "personal" means just that, and the idea that two people might
want to listen to the same music at the same time
from the same machine just doesn't seem logical. If you don't want to listen alone,
then you must want to listen in a group. And for that there are stereo systems
and, I guess, concerts.
