Perhaps digital photography has changed that.


Digital cameras, and the vast amount of photographs that we save from them, has probably brought back the need for thinking about where we've saved something. Dumping a large group of photographs into a "My Pictures" folder simply doesn't make as much sense as in the past saving one or two items in such a folder might have. On the other hand, folders with names such as March 2006, or Summer Trip, don't require much reflection.
