Wait a minute - which point am I referring to here?
Perhaps I'm not sure myself anymore. There's the point of this particular thought
- that I continually allow myself to surf, to move farther and farther from the
topic at hand, yet somehow feel that doing this is legitimate, and, within a hypertextual
framework, even natural.
On the other hand, there's the point about allowing tangents to keep me from writing,
a point which is closer to the original intent of this column. With each additional
page that I add to this digression, I have to admit that it's perhaps not a case
of keeping me from writing - that seems to be something that I'm doing without
any difficulty - but from writing things that perhaps merit being written.
