Statically dynamic just ain't it.
The presentations I've been preparing of late deal with the tools that comprise
the Read/Write Web (whether I think that's a useful term, beyond the hype, isn't
being dealt with here). Simply talking about these tools, or showing screenshots
of what they do, is understandably lacking. If you want to show that we're dealing
with tools that allow dynamic interaction between sites, between databases, between
users, and more, you've got to show these in real time. Anything less is simply
not very convincing, perhaps even self-defeating.
Having developed my presentation style in an earlier period, I've found it difficult
to overcome my trepidiation of relying solely on cached copies of pages. But even
though today, happily, using online materials in a presentation
is much less of a problem, I still try to avoid doing so.
