Dad taught me a very basic lesson, though sometimes I refer to it as a curse:
If you want to get something done, you'd better do it yourself.
Sadly, there's much too much truth in that statement. On the other hand, though
it might seem to be related to this column's topic (along the lines of, "when
in doubt, do the research yourself") my resistance to the Wikipedia doesn't
stem from not relying on others to furnish me with useful, or desired, information.
