What about blogs?

Not everybody (and certainly not only me) is only in it for the money. A very large part of the blogosphere is populated by people for whom the free exchange of ideas isn't a source of income, but rather an avocation that they're not willing to forego. Often, it's a time consuming labor of love which they continue to pursue simply because they find it hard to imagine their lives without it. Of course even blogs now have advertisements, and I'm sure that more than a handful of bloggers dream about converting their obsession into a profession, but I trust those with that approach are still in a minority.
