About that title.

We frequently see references to stories about people bending over backwards to use the internet when they might accomplish the particular task at hand much more readily with considerably lower-tech. I wouldn't post a list of groceries to a web site, or mail it to my web mail in order to access it when I'm in the supermarket. On the other hand, I can no longer imagine myself going to a supermarket without my cellular in hand.

And I suppose that more than a few of us have been in a situation where simple face to face talking could have been a feasible solution, yet not the first one used. This particular comic appeared here seven years ago, though the examples linked to the stories that relate to it are no longer accessible. Since then I've learned a bit more about graphics on the web, so I've now posted a larger, better resolution, copy. With today's faster connections, it probably loads just as quickly.
