Do filters think?

In an earlier version of that page I wrote that, in the eyes of the filter, these full sentences would make the message seem legitimate. But then I stopped myself. I of course know that filters don't have eyes. Yes, it's only a metaphor, but using it made me feel uncomfortable. So, in order to avoid writing that filters are using their eyes to read the content of a message, I instead write that they're thinking something. It's a losing battle.
