Very extensive reporting.
Mark's first report was an almost minute-by-minute account of what was happening
by Mom (he was with her when her first stroke occurred). And then we continued
to receive daily reports, still with almost complete
play-by-play. As time passed, this not only became a difficult level of reportage
to maintain - it also became clear that since Mom's situation wasn't undergoing
any significant change, there wasn't that much to continue to write. The daily
reports became weekly updates - though by most people's standards I'm sure that
these would be considered very comprehensive as well - we learned what Mom ate
and didn't eat, what medications she was receiving, who had visited her, and much
more. So much more, that perhaps we sometimes wondered whether we really needed
all the details.
