The Visual Analogue ScaleWe developed a computerized, single-item version of the visual analogue scale for measuring state anxiety (VAS-A), which has been empirically found to be reliable, valid, and sensitive to change in state anxiety.  The code for two similar VAS-As, in E-Prime format and Python format, are available for free download here. Complete instructions are included in the downloadable packages.
