I'm Tom Morris. I'm involved with a number of wikis including Wikipedia, Citizendium, RationalWiki, Wikinews, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikimedia Commons, WikiHow, a few experimental things of my own and now Knowino.
 Background and experience
- Philosophy: I've got an MA in Philosophy from Heythrop College, University of London and a BA in Philosophy, Religion and Ethics, also from Heythrop.
- Programming: I've been programming computers since I was a kid, starting in BBC BASIC. When I was about ten, my parents bought me a CD-ROM to learn C++ from, but I was rather hampered by not having a C++ compiler! As a teenager, I hacked with PHP before learning a variety of different programming languages including Python, Ruby, Java and Scala. I work for a small company doing Ruby and Ruby on Rails programming and like to tinker with Scala and Java stuff.
 Why I'm Here
I primarily intend to copy over material I've written for Citizendium for safe keeping. I might also copy stuff I've written for Wikipedia and Simple English Wikipedia and maybe add images I've posted on Commons. I don't consider forks a bad thing: I'm happy with a lot of different forks trying out different ideas and ways of managing the project of building an encyclopedia. This kind of thing is fine in open source: there are plenty of different variants of Linux and BSD and that's considered okay.
