School of Music

 

The music library is part of the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music.

The library serves teachers and students of the School of Music, as well as faculty and students of the Department of Musicology.

Students from other faculties who take music courses and guest musician who visit the academy are also among the library's frequent users. ,

The Library is devided into 3 sections:

- The reading room
- The listening and recording room
- The reception

 

Collection

The collection includes 50,000 items:

    • 35,000, scores, sheet music
    • 8,000 CD's; 6,000, records
    • 1,000, books on music, anthologies
    • 500 video-tapes
    • 25  periodicals

 

The unique service of the library is that it is the only one on campus which allows teachers to use materials (scores, recordings, videotapes and listening and viewing equipment), often in large numbers, in their classes. Most of the library collection comes from donors.
