For most of you this is the first visit to Israel. Therefore, we wish to offer you an experience beyond the medical one. We would like to take you to some of Israel’s most unique attractions.

The social program is for all the IFMSA students in the summer in Israel + Tel Aviv University Elective program students. Your friends or other medical students who wish to join are welcome to do so by contacting us on email, on basis of available places. Please, consider the following schedule while planning your travel

We are doing our best to provide the finest conditions at the most economical fares. All our trips are non-profit and we organize them voluntarily. The prices of the trips for 2011:

Jerusalem 1 day trip: 220 shekels. 2 day trip to the North: 650 shekel. 2 day trip to the south: 650 shekel. The opening event, International Party and Farewell Party are courtesy of the Federation of Israeli Medical Students (free for people IFMSA & Tel Aviv Elective Students).

The booking & payment for the trips will be at the Welcoming Evening, when more details will be given (if you cannot attend this evening please contact us and we will find a way to book you for the trips).

Payment for trips is in cash - Israeli currency - New Israeli Shekels or in Euro/U.S. Dollars. Credit Cards personal or Travelers cheques are not accepted.

Welcoming Event

On Monday July 4th 17:15 (5:15pm) (for July students)

On Wednesday August 3rd 17:15 (5:15pm) (for August students)

We meet at the entrance to the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University campus. The campus is situated at a neighborhood called Ramat-Aviv in Tel-Aviv

Please plan your travel to Israel, so you'll be here at the welcoming event.

Bus lines to the Tel-Aviv University campus:

Please take into account an 1-1.5 hours of travel time inside Tel-Aviv from the hospitals to the University, as this is traffic hour + Add the time you need to get to Tel-Aviv if you are in Jerusalem/Haifa.

From Wolfson hospital - Bus line 7 (bus stop on Ha-lo-ha-min st.)

From Sourasky (Ichilov) hospital - Bus line 7 (bus stop on Weitzman st.)

From Rabin (Belinson) hospital - Bus line 49 (bus stop on Zabotinsky st.) ( (this is not a short ride in traffic time so leave early!)

From Sheba (Tel-Hashomer) hospital - 2 options:

1. Bus line 55 to Arlozerov/Savidor/Tel Aviv Merkaz Train station and then bus line 7 or 271 (this will take a long time so leave early!)

2. Bus line 45 (bus stop on Tel-Hashomer Terminal) - it's a straight bus to the university, but it's not known for sure if it will operate July

From Asaf Ha-Rofe hospital - Take bus #451 to "tzomet holon" (holon junction) & switch buses to 171/271 to the university ( (this will take a long time so leave early!))

* Buses 7, 271, 45 have a stop at the faculty of medicine at Klachkin street - ask the bus driver (in hebrew it's: HaFakulta le-re-foo-a). bus 49 stops at the main entrance, enter the university and ask for directions to our faculty.

From Haifa or Beer-Sheva - Take the train to Tel-Aviv University station. The TAU train station is situated a 15 minutes walk from the medical school (Sackler building) (ask the station's security guard for directions to the campus). When you reach the campus - the medical school is situated on the north-east corner of the campus. Ask the Security guard at the entrance of the campus for directions to our faculty.

From Jerusalem - Take bus line 480 (Egged bus company) from Jerusalem Central bus station to Tel-Aviv Arlozorov bus station. From Tel-Aviv Arlozorov bus station take bus line 7 or 271 to Tel-Aviv university Campus. There is a stop at the faculty of Medicine entrance on Klachkin street. When you reach the campus - the medical school is situated on the north-east corner of the campus. Ask the Security guard at the entrance of the campus for directions to our faculty.

From Tel-Aviv central bus station - Bus line 127 to the Tel-Aviv University.

Day trip to Jerusalem

A private tour in the Old city of Jerusalem, Including the holy sites, market, Lunch & much more!

International Party

On Monday July 18^th (for July students) 21:30 pm

A wicked party in a local night club in Tel-Aviv - "Sublet" at the Tel-Aviv Beachfront. (there is no sign on the entrance so go by the street address). We will meet at 9:30 pm there. Please come on time : Your names will be in the entrance on a list, go to the host there and tell her you are here for the Medical Students Event, and that your name is on the list. Once you enter go up to the second floor for the party. If you arrive late we can't assure that they will let you in.

2 days trip to the South of Israel

The pinnacle of our social program:

Two days to the desert. Including the Dead Sea, Messada, Ein-Gedi desert springs, A kibbutz, the Great Crater and more.

On Fri-Sat August 19-20^th (for August students)

Trip to the green north

Two days to the North. Including Nazareth, Gilboa mountain, Jordan Valley, Hakibutzim River, Beth-Sha'an, view to the Kingdom of Jordan , Golan Hights, rafting in the Jordan River, Sea of Galilee and much more.

Nazerath

Farewell Event

On Monday July 25^th (for July students)

On Sunday August 28^h (for August students)

6:30 pm - Please be there on time, as we would like to toast at sunset.

The farewell event will be held at the Gordo beach club in Tel-Aviv.

We meet 18:30 (6:30pm) in Gordo Beach Club, at the Gordon Beach promenade (on the beach promenade at the end of Gordon St.)
