"Between the Healthy and the Ill: The Politics and Poetics of Boundary-Crossing in Illness Narratives."

On the basis of several autobiographies written by ill people, the lecture explores the pressures put by society on the unhealthy to "pass as" healthy, and the variety of reactions of ill people to this pressure. In addition to the lecture, Prof. Rimmon-Kenan will give an overview of her work, as a narratologist, on illness narratives.
