Installation Information:

The WebPath 10 CD-ROM is accessed as a local file on your computer from your Web browser. The file to initially open on the CD-ROM is start.htm The start.htm will take you to the main page in WebPath which is named webpath.htm and you can bookmark this page in your Web browser.

The WebPath 10 CD-ROM contains files that are cross-platform compatible and accessible via computers with PC compatible, Macintosh, or other UNIX operating systems. The WebPath files total 390 megabytes in actual size, but require more room when copied onto a hard disk drive, depending upon the operating system of your computer.

This product is designed for use with a Web browser. However, an Internet connection is not needed. You can directly access the WebPath CD-ROM on your computer. In some Web browsers you work in "offline" mode. A variety of browsers are available for both Macintosh, PC compatible, and UNIX computers. The recommended Web browser has the functionality that can handle frames, javascript, and cookies. The browser must be able to support display of inline images in jpeg (.jpg) and gif (.gif) format. For best viewing, the computer monitor should be able to display a resolution at 800 X 600 or better with as many colors as possible. The text elements are best viewed at a size of 12 (or "medium"). It is best to set your browser preferences to use the colors and background specified by the WebPath web pages.

Browsers that run on Macintosh computers will function without a network connection in place, assuming that you have configured the browser to begin with a blank page. You start the Web browser and open the start.htm file on the CD-ROM. If you have room on your hard disk drive, you can move the webpath folder there, and this will improve the speed of access.

If you are running a PC with a Windows operating system, you probably do not need to modify your configuration. You can start your Web browser without a connection established (work "offline") and access the WebPath CD-ROM as a local file. Open the file named start.htm in the root directory of the CD-ROM.

The appearance of the WebPath pages will vary somewhat on screen, depending upon the Web browser utilized.
