The cut surface of a placental chorangioma can be quite variable, depending upon the amount of vessels, hemosiderin deposition, fibrosis, hemorrhage, and infarction that produce red, brown, white, orange, and tan colors. Chorangiomas may be present in 0.5 to 1% of placentas, though often very small.
